We are Welsh McCarthy Parker, your legal ally for every challenge.

WMP was established in 2023, merging the rich legacy of Welsh McCarthy, a local law firm with roots dating back to 1904, with the modern practices of Parker Marriner, co- founded by Crichton Parker just 10 years ago. This unique blend of historical depth and contemporary expertise offers the perfect mix of traditional and modern practice.

Today, WMP serves the community with offices in both Hawera and Stratford. Our service is grounded in the principles of trust, integrity, and innovation, offering top-tier legal services in property law, commercial transactions, elder law, and more. Our team’s extensive experience and commitment to excellence ensures we continually deliver reliable and effective solutions.

With a focus on being approachable and empathetic, we are dedicated to understanding and addressing the unique needs of each client. As WMP continues to grow, our mission remains clear: to deliver high-quality legal services, with a personalised touch.

Crichton Parker

Managing Director

Crichton grew up in Hawera and graduated with an honours degree in Law from Wellington University. With nearly 25 years experience, he specialises in all aspects of property and commercial law, from complex company acquisitions, to mergers, subdivisions, and helping first-home buyers.

Beyond the legal realm, Crichton’s passions are as eclectic as they are intriguing. From pinball and exploring ancient architecture, to hunting UFOs, his interests are anything but conventional. He also shares his love of electronic music with the region through his weekly show on The Most FM.

With a unique blend of professional expertise and diverse hobbies, Crichton is more than happy to have stepped outside the mould of a traditional lawyer and put his own spin on the industry.
